At Nexgen Institute of Australia, we believe that real-world exposure is key to shaping skilled, confident, and job-ready trade professionals. Our trade students recently had the incredible opportunity to participate in a site visit to the West Gate Tunnel Project — one of Victoria’s most significant infrastructure developments.
This visit gave students valuable first-hand insights into large-scale construction operations, safety management, and advanced engineering practices. Experiencing how classroom learning connects with real-world industry applications was both educational and career-shaping for our future tradespeople.
At Nexgen, we’re committed to preparing our students to be industry-ready through:
Regular industry site excursions and hands-on learning experiences
Strong partnerships with leading organisations in the trade sector
Opportunities for internships and employment pathways

A heartfelt thank you to the West Gate Tunnel Project team — Adrian Darwent (Communications Manager, Communications & Stakeholder Relations), Marcello, and Leanne — for providing our students with an invaluable guided tour and deep insights into the project.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to our trade teachers, the student support team, and our CEO, Dr. Daman Shrivastav, for accompanying the students on-site and continuously supporting their professional development.
Together, we’re proud to empower our students with the knowledge, exposure, and industry connections that open doors to future internships and career opportunities.
